EspaÑolandiaEspañolandia (Spanish Land) is a gigantic room at BYU that has been decorated and arranged to simulate the experience a student might have if they were to travel to a Spanish-speaking country.
Students receive a passport and exchange their money for Españolandia pesos. Inside they will have the opportunity to go to the bank, the pharmacy, the hotel, the bakery, the subway station, the radio station, the souvenir stand, the restaurant, and possibly jail. When students are caught speaking in English the policia take them to jail and they must sing a song or do some other silly thing to be able to leave. To prepare for Españolandia click here! |
